It seems that the future of the the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam has become a contentious issue amongst the party cadre. While many want Sasikala to take over the party's reins there are those who wish to see Deepa Jayakumar take over the legacy of Jayalalithaa. This internal squabble has manifested itself by way of a poster war that has spread across Tamil Nadu.

Arani- Posters of Sasikala torn by miscreants
AIADMK members of Arani were baffled to find posters of Sasikala torn. The party had put up posters asking Sasikala to take over the reigns of the party. Unidentified persons are said to have torn only pictures of Sasikala from the posters.

Similar scenes were seen in over six locations in Arani where posters bearing Sasikala's name or photos were damaged.

Posters in support of Deepa Jayakumar
Posters supporting Jayalalithaa's niece, Deepa Jayakumar as the next leader of the AIADMK were noticed in Cuddalore. The fact that the posters came up in minister M C Sampath's constituency ruffled feathers within the district party workers.
AIADMK supporters urge Sasikala to lead the party
Meanwhile, AIADMK cadres in Trichy urged Sasikala to take charge as general secretary of the party. Cadres claimed they will fast unto death if Sasikala refused to lead them.
