AIADMK's Sasikala Pushpa alleges threat to life, breaks down in the RS
New Delhi/Chennai, Aug 1: Two days after slapping DMK RS MP Trichy Siva at the Indira Gandhi International Airport for speaking foul about her party, RS MP Sasikala Pushpa broke down in Rajya Sabha on Monday and demanded government protection.
Sasikala Pushpa said, "I have life threat. I'm being compelled to resign from my constitutional post. I will not do it."
She further added, "I need protection. I don't have safety in Tamil Nadu."
Meanwhile, reacting to the slapping episode, AIADMK general secretary Jayalalithaa said, "Sasikala Pushpa sacked from the party for bringing ill fame to the party."
The incident happened on Saturday. Both the leaders had landed separately at the airport departure after the Parliament session to return to Chennai by Jet Airways flight 9W-854.
Pushpa could be suddenly seen walking to Siva and slapping him. CISF personnel had to intervene and separate them. Siva did not file any complaint with the police.
