Rohtak, Apr 3: Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda on Thursday said the time has come to get rid of corrupt people from politics by casting vote in favour of responsible and development-oriented leaders.

Hooda, while addressing a gathering during his ongoing Rath Yatra here, appealed to people to cast their votes in the favour of honest and trustworthy candidates and save the state from those leaders with ulterior motives who practice politics of fear and terror.

He said the future of the nation lies in the hands of Congress party only. Hooda's son Deepender Singh Hooda, who has not been campaigning in the area due to his back ailment, is seeking re-election as Congress candidate from Rohtak.

"However, he will be the first MP who would win the election even without holding any campaigning for himself," he said adding people will vote for Deepender on the basis of his works and the all-round development which the government has carried out.

Hooda said that the members of his family have served the people of Haryana for many generations.

"Now continuing with this tradition and with the support of the people, we would continue to serve them and contribute in the development of the state," he said.

The Chief Minister said there is a need of progressive thinking for the development of state and nation. Polling for all the 10 Lok Sabha seats in Haryana will be held on April 10.
