Amritsar, Jul 22: Congress will fight unitedly under the leadership of Amarinder Singh and win more than 100 seats in the coming Vidhan Sabha elections, claimed Asha Kumari, the party's Punjab affairs in-charge.
Addressing the media outside Golden Temple here, she claimed people of Punjab have made up their mind to vote for the Congress.
"People are fed up with SAD-BJP combine and AAP both," she claimed. Kumari paid obeisance at the sanctum sanctorum along with Leader of opposition Charanjit Singh Channi and other Congress leaders including Raj Kumar Verka.
She also visited Jallianwala Bagh to pay tributes. Channi hit out at AAP, alleging its leadership was "so desperate to grab the power" in Punjab they are "compromising" on principles laid down by their own party.
Channi said since Navjot Singh Sidhu has resigned from the Rajya Sabha there has been an "unrest" among the AAP leaders in the state, which is evident from their daily news statements.
All the state leaders are opposing Sidhu's inclusion in AAP stating various reasons including his past attacks on the party, Channi claimed.
"Today it was clear in front of the people of Punjab that leaders like Sucha Singh Chottepur and Bhagwant Mann are only looking at grabbing power in Punjab and for achieving it, they can even blame anybody," he said.
While asking people of Punjab not to come under the influence of "theatrics" of AAP, Channi appealed to them to strengthen the hands of Amarinder.
"Today every section of the society is fed up with the SAD-BJP rule in the state. There is a complete financial bankruptcy, no law and order, drugs are flowing freely, no new industry, unemployment on rise, farmers committing suicides and unrest among the government employees," he alleged.
