What are the 2 extra wedding vows of Haryana sisters that would inspire all?

Chandigarh, Nov 5: In an incident that would keep everyone inspired, two sisters Damini and Chanchal took nine pheras (vows) instead of the usual seven.

The two extra vows were against female foeticide and for the environment. This has been a very motivating step the condition of their hometown Jind, which is known more for its skewed sex ratio.

This idea is the brain child of Damini and Chanchal's father Jagdeep Singh, who had been inspired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Clean India campaign.

That's not all. Singh, who is a local environmental campaigner, also had a special wedding present for his daughters.

"I gave 12 saplings to each of them, so a new kind of movement can be started," he said.

"We hope it really sends out the right kind of message. I really like what dad decided," said Damini.

Haryana as a whole suffers from skewed sex ratio. In Jind, candidates for the Lok Sabha and assembly election were turned away because they had not been able to help the local young men get brides.
