Evacuation begins in Odisha, Andhra Pradesh as they brace for Cyclone Hudhud
The Odisha government is prepared and has taken all possible steps to face cyclone Hudhud as it did during cyclone Phailin in 2013.
Met department has said that Hudhud has turned into a severe storm as it is approaching the Vishakhapatnam and Odisha coast.
Meanwhile in Odisha, 3.8 lakh people are being evacuated from eight districts. 39 NDRF teams and 12 teams of the state Disaster Rapid Action Force are deployed in 10 districts of Odisha and Navy ships are on stand by.
Once the cyclone makes landfall, heavy to very heavy rainfall is expected in Andhra Pradesh and Odisha, according to Met department.
