Cong, BJP likely to release LS & assembly candidates' name
Odisha Congress chief Jayadev Jena said the screening committee which met on Wednesday under chairman Oscar Fernandes in New Delhi finalised the candidates' list for the remaining 12 Lok Sabha seats and it was sent to the Central Election Committee (CEC) for approval. He also said that the screening committee meeting would be held twice to finalise the list of 147 assembly candidates.
The state BJP leaders failed to attend CEC meet owing to Modi's visit
The BJP is also expected to release the final list of candidates for both the assembly and Lok Sabha seats by March 15. The party's state leaders were unable to attend the CEC meeting in New Delhi on Thursday owing to the visit of its prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi to Sambalpur on Friday.
The CEC has already published the candidates' lists for five parliamentary and 57 assembly seats.
