Bhopal, Sept 18: As the assembly elections are fast approaching in Madhya Pradesh, the MP BJP is leaving no stone unturned in retaining the power in the state.
The MP BJP unit is organising a grand event called "sammelan" at the Jamboree Maidan in Bhopal on September 25.
"The BJP's prominent leaders will be attending the sammelan", state party unit spokesman Hitesh Vajpeyi said on Wednesday.
"Arrangements are being made to ensure that the event becomes a grand success", he said.
The party's patriarch LK Advani, the prime ministerial candidate as well as "star campaigner" Narendra Modi are expected to share the dais at a party workers' meet in poll-bound Madhya Pradesh.
Other BJP leaders, including Arun Jaitley, Ananth Kumar, Venkaiah Naidu, Sushma Swaraj and former chief ministers of Madhya Pradesh, would also attend the function.
The MP BJP is leaving no stone unturned in retaining the power in the state.
"BJP workers from all over Madhya Pradesh will attend the event, which would be the biggest function of its kind before the state Assembly elections slated later this year", he said.
Yesterday, MP BJP spokesman Vijendra Singh Sisodia told reporters, "In Madhya Pradesh, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan is the most popular leader, but in the coming assembly polls, Modi and other national leaders will be the party's star campaigners in the state."
"This will enhance the party's strength and its vote share in the state," Sisodia added.
The assembly polls are slated to be held in Madhya Pradesh in November this year.
A similar sammelan was held before the 2008 Assembly elections also and that time LK Advani had addressed it.
