According to TV reports, the BJP leader from Jabalpur, Anchal Sonkar was caught on tape throwing notes in public during a religious event.
The incident reportedly took place on Saturday, when the former BJP minister Anchal Sonkar was showering notes at a public function on the occasion of Eid.
In an act of brazenly violating Election Commission's model code of conduct, the EC has slapped a notice on him for distributing cash in public. The EC has given Sonkar 24 hours time to explain his action.
Meanwhile, 50-year-old Sonkar 'justified' his action while talking to a news channel.
This is the second case of poll code violation notice ever since Assembly elections in Madhya Pradesh and four other states were announced by the poll body on October 4.

The Election Commission on Wednesday slapped a poll code violation notice against the BJP leader and state's Industries Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya for violating the model code of conduct.
The EC pulled the minister for making "contemptuous" remarks against the model code of conduct and distributing money at an event in his constituency Mhow.
However, Vijayvargiya on Thursday said that he is "ready to work in accordance with the norms of the poll body".
The assembly elections in Madhya Pradesh are scheduled to take place on November 25 in single-phase.
The Model Code of Conduct is in force in all the five poll-bound states of Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, Delhi and Mizoram.
