India will become truly independent if only the cow is given its due respect?
The answer to all of these questions is yes and it was propagated during a rally held by the Bharatiya Gaur Kranti Manch held here on Sunday, seeking death sentence for cow slaughter, 'Rashtramata' status for the animal and a separate ministry to deal with bovine affairs, according to a report published in The Indian Express.
Gopal Mani Maharaj, the main speaker at the rally, threatened that 25 lakh cow devotees will storm New Delhi if the demands are not met in 2015, said the report. It was also sought during the rally that the government should offer cow milk to children upto 10 years free of cost. They said that it was cow milk that had helped Lord Krishna prevail over his maternal uncle Kansa who drank only liquor and became evil.
