Bhopal, Nov 7: In a strange incident, the Congress party workers on Thursday "locked-up" MP Meenakshi Natrajan inside a room, as they were protesting in favour of a party leader who was denied ticket to contest in upcoming assembly polls.

According to reports, the incident happened at Gandhi Bhawan after the declaration of second list of Congress candidates in which party has given ticket to Raghuraj Chowriya, who had lost from Neemuch by about 20,000 votes in 2008 election.

Rajkumar Ahir from Jawad Assembly constituency, Neemuch district, was denied ticket.

The party workers were reportedly against Chowriya's nomination. They accused Natrajan and State election campaign head Jyotiraditya Scindia of being biased in distributing the ticket.

"It is handy work of Scindia and Natrajan to deny me the ticket," Rajkumar Ahir told a newspaper. Ahir also said that he would contest the election as an independent candidate, if his party fails to resolve the issue in next 24 hours.

Meenakshi Natrajan is the same Congress MP from Mandsaur, whom Digvijay Singh called a "100% tanch maal" while addressing a rally in July this year.

There is something wrong going on in MP Congress. Party workers are not happy.

Another similar incident happened at the house of Secretary Sundarlal Tiwari in Rewa when the Congress party workers lodged a protest against senior leader Digvijay Singh, as Sarika Singh was not given party ticket.

The angry protestors shouted slogans against Digvijay Singh, who was also present there.

Today, a Congress leader Narsingh Malviya also committed suicide by consuming poison as he felt 'betrayed' after being denied the party ticket to contest the upcoming assembly elections on November 25.

Another Madhya Pradesh Congress vice-president Manak Agrawal resigned to protest party ticket to former Union minister Suresh Pachouri, whom he accused of corruption.
