Vijay Mallya haunted by Rs 600 crore debt, summoned in Karnataka court

, who lost his tiltle -- King of Good Times, continues to face financial crisis. Rubbing salt on his wound, the

summoned him in connection with a case of Rs 600 crore debt.

The high court asked the UB Group Chairman to appear before it on Tuesday, Sept 17. The court will hear the case in connection with a bunch of winding up petitions filed by creditors who are trying to get back close to Rs 600 crore from his company.

Justice Ram Mohan Reddy, who summoned Mallya to appear before the court on Tuesday, also asked the business tycoon to bring his passport.

Mallya earlier had informed that his company was expecting for out-of-court settlements with two of the five petitioners and said the company was having serious counter claims against three of the petitioners.

Meanwhile, Kingfisher airlines staff have renewed demand for their salary dues and have threatened to launch a hunger strike, if their demands are not met.

Employees of the grounded airline, received their salary for July 2012, this April and some of the city based employees have already started a peaceful agitation, according to reports.

Agitated employees showed their concern and said that they were pushed to the wall since April, when the airline paid them only their July 2012 salary.

"We have now decided to go on a hunger strike if our dues are not paid," reports quoted sources among employees.
