Siddaramaiah and Bipasha Basu perform Yoga in Bengaluru
Bengaluru: Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Bollywood actress and fitness expert Bipasha Basu performed several yoga asanas at Kanteerva stadium in Bengaluru from 7am to 8.30 am on Tuesday (June 21) in order to celebrate International Yoga Day.
A large number of people along with union minister Ananth Kumar also performed yoga on the ocassion. Siddaramaiah said: "I have been practising yoga for the past one year and have noticed a change."
It may be noted that last year, Siddaramaiah along with Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty performed yoga on the same occasion.
Siddaramaiah had then also promised to add yoga as compulsory extra curriculum activity in the state's schools and colleges, as yoga is a better way to relieve stresss and pressure.
International Yoga Day was celebrated across the country with prime minister Narendra Modi leading the celebrations in Chandigarh while several ministers participated in other states.
Addressing a gathering of yoga enthusiasts, the prime minister said a public movement should be started through yoga to address the problem of diabetes in our country.
It was witnessed that several political parties united together in different states to celebrate International yoga day.
