Cauvery Row: Security increased in Srirampura, Okalipuram, Shivajinagar and Prakashnagar
Bengaluru, Sept 12: Today's violence over the Supreme Court's verdict on Cauvery water sharing has escalated to various parts of Bengaluru.

Heightened tension across various pockets of the city has been reported even as news of Section 144 being revoked is making the rounds. Schools and educational institutes have been shut down for safety purposes.
The areas that need to be avoided for now include Ulsoor Road, Indiranagar, Mysore Road, Prakashnagar, Sriramapuram, Okalipuram, Malleshwaram, Nayandahalli, Rajajinagar, Vijayanagar, Sheshadripuram, Yelahanka. Some of the other areas where security has been deployed include Frazer Town, RT Nagar, Peenya. Police has also been deployed in Tamil populated areas like Tanary road,Hegde Nagar, Sri Rampura, Pandavapura, NICE Road, Mandya, Tippasandra, and Kalasi Palyam.

It is said that Tamil-dominated areas are the main targets. Trucks, buses and lorries with TN registration are either stopped or set ablaze.
