Bengaluru, Dec 6: On Sunday, Dec 6, the residents of Whitefield in Bengaluru have set a deadline for the city development minister KJ George to complete all infrastructure-related issues like streamlining traffic as well as connectivity with the main city.
However, earlier also they (residents) demanded to complete the project of Metro connectivity to connect Whitefield with other parts of the city.
"The main roads of Whitefield are not of quality grade. As Whitefield is a hub for the IT companies, commuters have to suffer a lot while traveling on these roads" one of the residents of Whitefield said, when George went to conduct survey.
The six major roads of Whitefield -Siddapura to ITPB, Borewell Road, ECC Road, Kundanahalli to Hoodi, Outer Ring Road to EPIP and ring road to Whitefield via Varthur have been assured by the minister to complete it upgrade project till March 31.
Meanwhile, residents of Whitefield also asked to assure the quality of work as per Tender sure and other schemes of road infrastructure project.
"There are lot of problems in connectivity from Whitefield to the main city and roads are not appropriate", Tejaswi Karnad, a daily commuter told OneIndia.
RK Mishra, urban expert told a leading daily, "the work on the MG Road to Hope Farm Junction via Old Airport Road and to Chikka Tirupati road via Old Madras Road must be completed by the end of June 30, 2016. We along with the residents of Whitefield came up with "Save Whitefield" movement on Wednesday, Nov 30."
"The Ring Road should also be upgraded with service roads and ramps, bus shelters and foot-over-bridges and developing State Highway 35 from Dommasandra to Hoskote from four to six lanes as per their project plan which must be completed at the same time" he added.
However, metro connectivity from Whitefield may lessen the traffic related-issues which is taking too long time to complete as per passing deadline of planned project of construction.
