Satyameva Jayate, says Yeddyurappa after acquittal in bribery case

The court acquitted Yeddyurappa and 13 others who were named as accused in the Rs 40 crore bribery case

Bengaluru, Oct 26: 'Satyameva Jayate' is what BS Yeddyurappa had to say after being acquitted in the Rs 40 crore bribery case. "Justice is done, I stand vindicated. Thanks to all my well wishers, friends and supporters who stood by me in these tough times," Yeddyurappa, the former Karnataka Chief Minister and state BJP president had to say after the verdict was announced.

"I have not committed any mistake and I got justice," he said. "This order will be an inspiration to all the workers. All charges against me have been proven wrong today. This was a political conspiracy against me and today all those who tried to bring this upon me have been proven wrong by the court. I had faith in the judiciary and my stand has been vindicated," Yeddyurappa added.

There was considerable amount of tension prior to the verdict being delivered. Before the verdict, Yeddyurappa met his supporters and told them to be confident and strong.

As the court read out the verdict, Yeddyurappa waited patiently. He looked completely relieved when he was given a clean chit by the court. He folded his hands and thanked the court before leaving the premises immediately.

His followers were overjoyed. His supporters who were clearly tensed ahead of the verdict also looked relieved. His supporters were seen congratulating each other after the verdict.
