Speculations were rife that the 'city of gardens' will observe its maiden 'Car Free Day' on Dec 20th on the famous MG Road.
In a telephonic conversation, Saleem told OneIndia, "No not in December but 'Car Free Day' might be observed probably next month in January."
Earlier in the day, a media reports claimed that a Delhi-Gurgaon like car free event would be observed in Bengaluru on the 20th of this month.
Moreover, Saleem denied to speak about the exact date and said, "It is yet to be finalized in next month and date is still not confirmed as per my information."
On being asked about planning of the event he said, "It is yet to be confirmed and Bengaluru Metro Rail Corporation LTD (BMRCL) and the tourism department will take all initiatives for organising this event."
On increasing level of air pollution in the city, Saleem added, "It is the duty of every citizens to ensure clean air for themselves and those around them."
There was confusion in the minds of people of Bengaluru ever since the news about Car Free Day being observed on Dec 20th cropped up.
