Dr Neeraj Patil is a former Mayor of the London Borough of Lambeth and joined BJP in Bangalore on Monday. Dr Patil was warmly welcomed by BJP's party members Ananth Kumar, Suresh Kumar and others.
Dr. Neeraj Patil, a Kannadiga, and NRI from Karnataka was the First Mayor of Asian origin in the London Borough of Lambeth from 2010-2011. He was a consultant in Accident and Emergency Medicine who completed his fellowship from the prestigious Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and was first elected as a Labour Councillor for the Larkhall ward in 2006 and re-elected in 2010.
Patil believes that people should be shown the true form of democracy and given the right to choose their leaders and taste the right form of development.
He says that BJP prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi has a true vision of development and should actually become the prime minister of India.
Patil was born in Gulbarga district's Kamalapura town and was settled in the United Kingdom for many years. He was awarded the "The Rajyotsava Award" by Karnataka government in the year 2008 for promoting accountable democracy in India.
