Bangalore, Sept 30: Rashtriya Janta Dal (RJD) chief and former chief minister of Bihar Lalu Prasad Yadav reportedly sought the "blessings" of his favourite cows before heading to the special CBI court in Ranchi for the crucial verdict on the 16-year-old fodder scam, a report published in The Telegraph said on Monday.

Prasad went to his air-conditioned cowshed while going to the Patna airport to catch a flight to Ranchi on Sunday, the report said. The RJD chief found peace when among his 72 Jersey cows and 42 calves, the report cited sources in the party saying.

Prasad is known to be fond of cows, whom he worships as gau-mata (mother cow).

Lalu Prasad was convicted by a special CBI court in a 16-year-old fodder scam

Prasad's cowshed has now been shifted to Danapur and serves milk to leading hotels and restaurants in Patna.
However, the "blessings" did not help help Prasad much as he was convicted by the court along with 44 other people from across party lines. The quantum of punishment will be announced on October 3.
RJD leaders and supporters said it was a conspiracy against their supremo.
