New Delhi, Oct 3: RJD supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav has been sent to jail for 5 years in connection with fodder scam case. A special CBI court, while announcing the sentence on Thursday, Oct 3, asked the former Bihar chief minister to pay a fine of Rs 25 lakh.

Lalu Prasad, who is well-known as Lalu, has become the second MP to lose seat after Rasheed Masood was sentenced to four years in jail in the MBBS admission scam on Tuesday.

RJD party members, however, cried foul and said that their leader was innocent and said that this was a conspiracy against him. The party members have said that they will now appeal to the higher court.

Meanwhile, countrymen turned up to the micro-blogging site Twitter discussing the future course of RJD and the possible fate of Lalu. Earlier Twitter was flooded with tweets cracking jokes on Lalu when the court had convicted him in the corruption case. Fodder Scam, RJD, Bihar were few among the trending hash tags on Twitter on Thursday.
