Karnataka: Jayaprakash Hegde to join BJP, big worry for Congress
Jayaprakash Hedge met former Chief Minister and BJP state President B S Yeddyurappa earlier in November sparking off speculations of him joining the BJP
Bunt strongman and politician with a 'squeaky clean image', Jayaprakash Hegde is all set to join the BJP on Sunday. BJP sources told OneIndia that the former Congress leader is likely to join the party during an event in Palace Grounds over the weekend in Bengaluru.
Karnataka Congress had expelled Hegde in 2015 citing anti-party activities following which he had said that he will contest as an independent candidate in the 2018 assembly polls. Seems like he doesn't have to wage a lonely battle as the BJP has grabbed the opportunity to have him on board.
Jayaprakash Hedge met former Chief Minister and BJP state President B S Yeddyurappa earlier in November sparking off speculations of him joining the BJP. Jayaprakash Hegde is now all set to join the party on possibly on November 27 during its OBC rally in Bengaluru.

Hegde joining the BJP should come as a worry to the Congress that is fast losing base in coastal Karnataka. Hegde was Congress' natural choice for Udupi-Chikmagalur constituency bypoll when D V Sadananda vacated the seat in 2012. He went to become an MP. Now with him and his assured votes on board, BJP looks at a certain win in coastal karnataka constituencies during the 2018 elections.
