Bengaluru, June 9: The DSP rank woman officer from Karnataka, Anupama Shenoy has the set the cat among the pigeons and the government is truly worried. So worried that they have constituted a special investigation team to track her down.
Efforts are being made every single minute to track her down or even get in touch with her, but they have been in vain.
The Special team from Ballari had even visited her native place in Udupi, but there have found no information.
Speaking with her family members too did not get the team any information. This issue is looking to snowball into a major issue for the government and there is a desperate attempt on to pacify her and tell her to withdraw her resignation.
What triggered off the problem:
The entire problem began due to a tussle between labour minister, Parameshwar Naik and another Congress leader. First and foremost the officer's relationship with Naik was strained as she alleged that he was interfering in her work. This was made use of by the other leader who had a score to settle with the minister.
The leader began backing Anupama and this worsened the relationship with Naik. However the issue turned worse when Anupama arrested a few persons who were running a liquor shop. It is alleged that these persons were close to the minister.
It was her allegation that after the arrest, the minister had called the inspector and had them released. This triggered off the problem further and she submitted her resignation and walked out.
Volley of messages on Facebook:
Anupama Shenoy has been in the news several times in the past. She got into the bad books of the sand mafia at first. She also took on the liquor lobby.
However the most famous incident was when she put minister labour minister Parameshwar Naik on hold. Following this Naik had bragged on how he got her transferred for putting her call on hold.
Her messages on Facebook have caused a great deal of concern for the government. She has a post in which she calls Karnataka as Rum Rajya. There is another post in which she asks Naik when he is quitting.
However the post in which she speaks about an audio and video CD of Naik is the most damaging., She says she would release it only after midnight as children cannot watch it.
Government in a fix:
The government is clearly in a fix over this issue. Following her resignation to the DGP, there has been no decision on it taken as yet. Earlier the home ministry was contemplating disciplinary action against her for inflammatory posts on the social media.
However the Chief Minister sensed that this issue was going out of control. He made a plea for her to return. He said no hasty decisions would be taken. She is still in service as her resignation has not been accepted as yet.
However none are aware where exactly she is at the moment. Her brother says she would issue a public statement soon. He also says that the Facebook posts may not be her's and there is a chance of it being hacked.
