Karnataka government clears huge Volvo project
The committee, headed by Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, cleared 10 projects worth Rs 10,044 crore with a potential to generate 14,105 jobs.
It also cleared the setting up of a truck and bus manufacturing plant by Volvo India at a cost of Rs 974 crore with an employment potential of generating 2,215 jobs at Malur in Kolar, according to a statement from the chief minister's secretariat.
Another major project cleared was a proposal by Toyota Mitsubishi to set up a rotation motor and power equipment plant at Vasanthpur in Tumkur at a cost of Rs 548 crore.
