Hiding in an ISI den

Tara has been on the run for several years now. He was heading the Khalistan Tiger Force which was being revived by the ISI. Following the assassination he was arrested and put into the Burail Model Jail in Chandigarh.

However he along with two others- Paramjith Singh and Dev Singh made an escape from jail. They are said to have dug a tunnel in a bid to escape. It is said that they left for Pakistan after the escape.

However a few years he was sent by the ISI to Thailand. He was said to have been staying at the Khalat Bari.

The mastermind

Tara is said to be the mastermind behind the attack on Beant Singh. At that time he was a part of the Babbar Khalsa a group which was chased out of Punjab by Beant Singh and K P S Gill.

However after this incident he broke away from the Babbar Khalsa and formed the Khalistan Tiger Force. The Indian agencies say that these groups have the same agenda of reviving militancy in Punjab. They just operate under different names.
