Evangelist Benny Hinn's visit to Blore stirs up controversy

Opposition against Benny Hinn's visit
Bangalore, Jan 7: BJP leaders in Bangalore have opposed to the visit of evangelist Benny Hinn, who is all set to be in the city for a prayer conference on Jan 15, 16, 17.

Hinn will be visiting the city after 8 years. His last visit in 2005 was reported with incidents of arson in some parts of the city and many buses were also damaged in the process.

Since his last visit had created problems, the Opposition has now asked the state government not to grant Hinn permission to conduct any programme. BJP leaders have hit out at Siddaramaiah saying that in 2005 Siddaramaiah had opposed to Hinn's programme but since now he is the CM he has granted permission for the programme.

BJP likely to stage a protest against Hinn's programme

People against Hinn have accused him and alleged that Hinn uses these programmes to convert Hindus to Christianity. Some protestors even objected to the posters and other publicity material used for the programme.

Hinn has often claimed that he can cure diseases and calls them 'miracle crusades'. However organisers of this event have said that this will be a prayer for the sick people and that no healing or miracles will take place.
