Bengaluru, Nov 23: As Bengaluru roads are plagued by potholes, a 38-year-old woman became the latest victim, who was badly injured due to a dangerous crater at Ramakrishna Ashram Circle in Basavanagudi, south Bengaluru.

Girija P was going to pick up her daughter from her school in Hanumanthnagar, TOI reported.

As she stumbled upon the pothole, a canter lorry hit her from behind. Thankfully, the driver managed to apply brakes and Girija's life was saved.

Presently, she is admitted to a private hospital and underwent a leg surgery on Sunday, Nov 22.

Her husband, BK Purushotham, was quoted saying as to the TOI, "This morning I saw the pothole where my wife fell being filled up with jelly. The jelly remains risky for motorists. But what about other potholes just around the circle itself ? There Why have these not been filled up and roads fixed? Are they waiting for another accident so these potholes get the attention they require?"

Meanwhile, the city mayor BN Manjunath said that he has asked officials to inspect the potholed roads and to ensure that by Monday they are all filled.

A petition to demand "Fix The Potholes In Bangalore" has also been filed on Change.Org. Since 2013, it has received 20,308 supporters and 4,692 supporters are needed to reach 25,000.
