Bengaluru, Aug 11: With BBMP razing down buildings that have encroached on storm water drains, a portion of martyred NSG Commando Niranjan Kumar's house has also been marked for the same.

Kumar's father Shivarajan said, "The BBMP (Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike) officials have marked for demolition one of the three pillars on which my (late) son Lt Col Niranjan Kumar's house is standing."

He further explained that a pillar of the house has encroached upon the storm water drain at Doddabommassandra near Vidyaranyapura and officials have marked it for razing down. Shivrajan said that his wife Radha and another son Shashank have sought time from the BBMP to make their own arrangements to remove the pillar.

He said, "My wife and son have sought time for removing one of the three pillars on which the house is standing. My family is bit worried about the BBMP officials using JCB (earth mover) to pull down the structure as it may cause considerable damage to the house itself."

BBMP is on its fifth leg to raze down any building blocking the storm water drains. Demolition are being done in Vidyaranyapura. Yesterday, it had identified and marked properties at Yelahanka, Rajarajeshwari Nagar, Bommanahalli, Mahadevapura and Yeshwantpur.

Meanwhile, yesterday Siddaramaiah ordered action against 20 government officials for their involvement in encroachment of storm water drains in the city.

Shivarajan is in Palakkad making arrangements for a memorial for his martyred son. Niranjan Kumar was a bomb expert with NSG, who sacrificed his life during the terror attack in Pathankot airbase in January. He was martyred while neutralising the booby-trapped body of a terrorist.
