Bengaluru, Feb 18: In yet another shocking incident of rising crime against girl students inside schools, a Class 9th girl has alleged that she had been sexually assaulted by her Physical Education teacher, since last nine months.
According to media reports, the incident has been reported from a private school in North Bengaluru. The teenaged girl, who underwent mental and physical trauma, narrated her ordeal to a school friend, who informed the incident to her parents.
The accused has been identified as a 40-year-old teacher Laxmikanth, who has been employed with the school from last eight years.
Following the complaint by her parents to the school authorities, the accused was suspended.
The school authorities even filed an FIR at Jalahalli police station. But the accused absconded the city, along with his wife and children.
In the complaint, it was mentioned that the girl was repeatedly raped by him from February to November 2015.
One of the police official, investigating the matter, siad that Laxmikanth may have taken the girl to his home or outside to commit the crime.
The accused is a native of Shivamogga and police is trying to trace him soon.
Following the complaint, other girl students of the same school also alleged that the teacher had misbehaved with them too, in the past.
A case under section 376 of the IPC and section 6 of Pocso Act (aggravated penetrative assault) has been registered against him, said a TOI report.
