Bengaluru, Nov 18: Most of us engage in petty fights with our siblings at our homes. In Bengaluru, a petty argument over a bedsheet turned fatal for a young woman lawyer.

The shocking incident took place at Attiguppe, Chandra Layout in West Bengaluru on Monday, Nov 16 night, when 25-year-old Swarnalatha Stephen Isaac, an advocate, committed suicide, after falling into depression following an argument with her mother, Susannah Isaac, two weeks ago.

Her death came to light, when her elder sister Asha D'Silva saw her hanging from a ceiling fan on Tuesday morning.

Swarnalatha, who was very attached to her mother, took the extreme step, when her parents had gone to Goa on Friday to meet their relatives and when she was alone at home.

Asha told a leading daily, "Swarnalatha and Sweet Mary (their younger sibling who works at a BPO) had a fight over a new bedsheet. Both of them wanted to use it. But my mother sided with Mary and scolded Swarnalatha. From that day, they stopped talking to each other. The fighting might have triggered the incident."

Before ending her life, Swarnalatha left behind a heart-breaking suicide note that said, "Amma, I love you too much. I can't live without talking to you. This fight has pushed me into depression. You all should be happy. I am going away from all of you and mummy, please forgive me".
