BBMP: Second deadline to fill up open potholes by Dec 10
Bengaluru, Nov 29: Now, after so many accidents due to potholes in Bengaluru on Saturday, Nov 29, BBMP officials have fixed the deadline to fill the potholes by December 10.
BBMP, Comissioner G Kumar Naik said, "The civic body have started doing work from Thursday, Nov 26, and will complete the work by Dec 10."
However, its a tough task to fill up the Bengaluru potholes in a period of two weeks.
As it is the second time when BBMP has taken a call to fill up the potholes. Earlier, the deadline for the same was Nov 1. But as usual BBMP has failed to do so.
Adding further Naik said, "Already we have identified 100 roads to fill up potholes, we have filled up 34 roads by now, as each ward has been been assigned Rs 1 lakh to fill potholes immediately.
Race Course Road, parts of Bannerghatta Road, Residency Road, Commissariat Road and Double Road were among those repaired and as of now Rs 20.43 crore has been spent to fill up roads."
On road injury compensation Naik said, "We will take this issue to the council to provide compensation to victims' family and we have already short listed BBMP contractor who have not done their work in proper manner."
While adding to that he concluded and said,"We are even taking much effort to test the quality of material used by the contractor to fill up the potholes now."
