Bangalore, Aug 22: The IT hub made the headlines for wrong reasons yet another time after a 13-year-old boy was brutally thrashed with a rod in a government shelter home. The boy was allegedly taken to a shelter home after he was mistaken as an orphan.
The boy was then assaulted and tortured in the shelter home. He was allegedly made to walk on his knees for a kilometre and then forced to clean toilets and kitchen.

The boy's mother filed a police complaint after learning about the incident. She said her son was not able to eat for two days because of intense pain.
Bangalore has come to the news recently for a series of crime committed against children and women. A massive protest occurred in the city after a six-year-old girl was allegedly raped in a reputed school. The protest even saw the police commissioner of the city being replaced.
