ATMs open- First day no show
The scenario was similar in most ATMs across the country. People were seen making a beeline outside the ATMs. Most of the ATMs were out of service while some did not even open shutters
First day no show at most ATMs across the country. Banks had sent out a message stating that the ATMs would be functional from Friday onwards. However that was not to be. Several ATMs were closed or not dispensing cash as a result of which several people were put to great hardship.

"The bank sent us an SMS that atms will be functional starting today but they are still out of service. It is definitely a lot of inconvenience to the common man", said Sunil Kumar a senior citizen who has paid a visit to an ATM thrice since morning.

that
the
new
notes
are
smaller
in
size
especially
the
Rs
500
note
and
they
need
to
replace
the
cash
dispensing
slot
in
ATM
machines.
We
are
being
told
it
will
take
at
least
another
day
before
it
is
fixed",
said
Vanaja
who
waited
for
ATMs
to
open.
She
however
ended
up
queueing
up
outside
a
bank
instead
to
exchange
old
high
value
notes.
The
