Air-conditioned bus catches fire near Bangalore, 6 killed

Bangalore, April 16: An air-conditioned bus going from Bangalore to Davangere in Karnataka caught fire on Wednesday morning, leading to the death of six passengers. Twelve persons were seriously injured and the condition of three was critical. The injured were rushed to a hospital.

The sleeper coach had 29 people on board. The driver is absconding after the tragedy.

This is the third instance in 6 months that a bus from Bangalore caught fire

This is the third such incident in the last six months in which a bus from Karnataka met such a tragedy. In October, 45 people were charred when a Volvo bus travelling from Bangalore to Hyderabad caught fire after hitting a divider on the national highway in Mahbubnagar district in Andhra Pradesh.

In November, seven persons were killed while 40 were injured after a Mumbai-bound bus from Bangalore burst into flames.
