The matter made the headlines as questions were being raised on how a candidate himself could allow a deflection from the rule? This year, the Election Commission decided that the ink would be applied on the left thumb of the voter(s) for many people still have the voting mark on their left index finger as local elections were held in various parts of the state recently.
Nilekani, after voting on Thursday morning, wrote on his Facebook account: "Voted this morning in Koramangala! Got inked - candidates get inked on their index finger."
Why did the other candidates get their thumbs inked then?
