Train derailment: NIA arrests key accused

The case pertains to planting of a pressure cooker IED on the railway track at Ghorasahan, Motihari.


Patna, Feb 20: The National Investigation Agency has arrested one person in connection with the train derailment case. Ranjay Shah was arrested by the NIA in Bihar's Motihari.

Shah is a close associate of accused Umashankar who was earlier arrested by the Bihar police. He has been arrested twice before, once in a theft case and later in an Arms Act case.

The case pertains to planting of a pressure cooker IED on the railway track at Ghorasahan, Motihari.

The Bihar police which first cracked the case found that an ISI module operating out of Nepal had roped in people to cause train derailments in India.

The case was later handed over to the NIA for investigation.
