Narendra Modi to inaugurate 3-day business harmony conclave today
The three-day conclave will have business harmony as its theme and promises to flag off a new era in cross-community business opportunity.
The event is being seen as a major attempt by Modi on the lines of the Sadbhavana Mission that he had undertaken in September 2011 to woo the minority community. The leader has been under relentless attack from his Opposition for the 2002 anti-Muslim riots in Gujarat. He was the chief minister of the state at that time.
The conclave is being seen as an attempt to show Muslims' progress in business
The conclave, which is supported by the Gujarat government and Vibrant Gujarat-2015, is expected to attract to 1 lakh businessmen and entrepreneurs, mainly Muslim.
There is also a plan to set up a ‘Muslim Business Association' and try to affiliate it to national business Chambers like the FICCI and CII, sources in organisers said.
