Narendra Modi craze picks up in fashion world this Navratri

Gandhinagar, Oct 7: After national politics, BJP's prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi has made inroads even into the world fashion this festive season. As the country gears up for the Navratri season this year, Modi tattoos, kurtas, sarees, suits and fabrics have made their way into the market.

Young males and females have sported Modi tattoos on their arms and backs and also donned Modi outfits during the nine-day festival to show their support for the Gujarat chief minister and the prime ministerial candidate of the principal opposition party. Besides Gujarat, the Modi fashion craze has been witnessed in other big cities like Mumbai, Delhi and Bangalore.

Reports said a tattoo artist in Ahmedabad has made 30,000 sticker tattoos to be distributed on various Garba venues in the city. While another artist in Ghatkopar in Mumbai is even ready to sell Modi tattoos for free.

Modi kurtas are also selling like hot cakes in Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh and Andhra Pradesh. Even NRIs are ordering Modi kurtas online, the reports added.

Jade Blue, the manufacturers of the kurtas have taken the brand abroad.

Modi sarees, too, have become very popular among the youth. The huge textile market in Surat is promoting their products with help of brand Modi. The heavily embroidered sarees have stickers saying 'Modi lao, desh bachao' while some others say 'Vote Modi, save nation'. The demand for such sarees is high in states like Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and even West Bengal, which is not known to be a BJP stronghold.
