Jagan ends fast but Andhra haunts Parl
New Delhi, Sept 2: A day after high drama over Jagan Mohan Reddy's fast in Hyderabad, protest demanding united Andhra forced Lok Sabha Speaker Meira Kumar to adjourn the house till 2 pm on Monday, Sept 2.

Members of Parliament (MPs) of Telugu Desam Party (TDP) and Congress party raised slogans against UPA government's decision of forming Telangana out of Andhra Pradesh.


UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi earlier on July 30 had asked the Union Cabinet to take steps to create Telangana. Hyderabad would be the joint capital of Telangana and Seemandhra for 10 years. Telangana would have 10 districts of Andhra Pradesh but the formation of the new state would take some time, informed Ajay Maken along with Digvijay Singh.

Lok Sabha adjourned over Andhra

Total 10 districts of Telangana are -- Adilabad, Karimnagar, Warangal, Khammam, Nalgonda, Hyderabad, Mahbubnagar, Rangareddy, Medak, Nizamabad.

13 districts of Seemandhra are -- Srikakulum, Vizianagaram, Vishakhapatnam, East Godavari, West Godavari, Krishna, Guntur, Prakasam, Nellore, Cuddapah, Chittoor, Ananthapur, Kurnool.

Drama Over Jagan's fast:

The President of YSR Congress, who has been lodged at Chanchalguda Jail in Hyderabad over corruption allegations, held a seven-day fast protesting against the Centre's decision of forming Telangana.

However, Jagan was compelled to end his hunger strike when Chanchalguda Jail authorities issued order citing his deteriorating health condition. Doctors of Nizam's Institute of Medical Sciences (NIMS) were asked to give Jagan IV fluids forcibly.
