Asaram still on the run, son calls victim 'mentally unstable'
Jodhpur, Aug 28; A week after allegations of sexual abuse and rape came out in the open against Asaram Bapu, his arrest remains a big question that lingers in everybody's mind. The Jodhpur Police has sought a look-out notice in order to prevent the self styled godman from fleeing the country as Asaram continues to evade the police.
As politicians and activists along with the victim's family demand for his arrest, his son, Narayan Sai, on Wednesday defended his father and said that the victim in question is 'mentally unstable. He added that the girl was unstable when she had come here and said that she would take at least two hours to have bath. Sai made these remarks when he was addressing a group in Gujarat.
As Delhi and Jodhpur police prepares a report, media personnel were stopped from entering his ashram here by his men. Even though there was presence of the police, none of them came forward and stopped Asaram's men from doing so.
In the meantime, Rajasthan CM Ashok Gehlot met Sushil Shinde and briefed him over the proceedings in the case and defended the Jodhpur Police saying that the police was taking all the necessary steps and that action will be taken. Gehlot, while addressing reporters said, "Saints should maintain their sanctity so that no fingers are raised accusing them." This again when his government has been accused of being soft towards Asaram.
