Louisiana, Aug 27: Video games are meant for entertainment kids but this is a case of entertainment that went horribly wrong. An eight-year-old-boy intentionally shot and killed his grandmother here, last week after playing a violent game of Grand Theft Auto IV.
The boy shot his grandmother, Marie Smothers, 87 as she was watching television in her mobile home in the town of Slaughter, Louisiana.
The game that the boy was playing before he shot his grandmother, is an 'M' rated game, known for mature audiences and is often known to encourage violence amongst those who play it.
Neighbours said that both, Smothers and her grandson didn't have a strained relationship. In fact they were quite close to each other.
The boy in question however will not be charged of any criminal offence as he is under 10 years and according to the Louisian law, anyone below 10 years is not tried for any criminal charges.
