YS Vijayamma withdraws fast, son Jagan to take over
Hyderabad, Aug 24: YSR Congress honorary president Y S Vijayamma withdrew her fast on the request of son and party chief YS Jaganmohan Reddy on Saturday. The latter will take over the hunger strike from Sunday onwards in Chanchalguda Jail, his wife Bharathi Reddy confirmed this after meeting him in the jail on Saturday.
Jagan is also planning to write an open letter to the people as a reply to those leaders from Telangana who left the party.
Vijayamma's fasting as a protest against the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh entered its sixth day on Saturday. She was forcibly taken to the hospital by the police in Guntur in the state but refused to give up. Her party supporters tried to resist the police, leading to a tension and the police used force to take the YSR Congress leader. Vijayamma is the wife of late Andhra chief minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy.
