Some files of coal blocks allocation missing: Sriprakash Jaiswal
New Delhi, Aug 17: The Union Coal Minister Sriprakash Jaiswal on Friday said that some files of coal blocks allocated from 1993 to 2005 have gone missing.
Besides files, the recommendations made by Congress MP Vijay Darda forwarded by the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) for the Bander block have also gone missing.
However, Jaiswal told a news channel that, "768 files have been submitted to the coal ministry.Yes, this is true that some of those files are missing. What we are trying is to get these files from other ministries."
On August 06, the Supreme Court directed the Centre to provide full co-operation to the CBI in its probe in coal block allocations scam by providing it with all necessary information and files without any delay.
The bench passed the order after one of the petitioners alleged the Ministry of Coal was not co-operating with CBI in supplying complete documents.
The Supreme Court said that the next hearing of the case will be on August 29.
