The security arrangements have been beefed up by the city police to ensure that the celebrations are held with out any disturbance.
"Preparations taken up jointly by the civic body, city police and the Deputy Commissioner (Bangalore Urban) has completed the arrangements and we are working from past 25 days and will give a good show", said M Lakshminarayan, Commissioner BBMP (Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike), also the chairman of the Independence Day celebrations.
This year the arrangements have been made to accommodate total of 12,000 for VVIPs, VIPs, Defence personnel, freedom fighters, government officials and the general public.
Rehearsals are also taking place at the grounds from past three days, where the celebration will see participation by around 2,600 school children.
He also said that on August 15, Chief Minister Siddaramiah will arrive at the parade grounds at 8.58 a m and hoist the National Flag at 9 a m. An IAF helicopter will shower flower petals during the flag hoisting.
The disaster management cells have also been set up to prevent any untoward incidents. Their will 20 ambulances on the grounds and 50 doctors, 40 nurses, 10 pharmacists and 10 gunmen have been posted for the I-Day celebrations, he said.

There will be 20 ambulances on site with 50 doctors, 40 nurses, 10 pharmacists, 40 drivers/ assistants and 10 gangmen. Around 120 beds have been reserved in 28 hospitals. As many as 40 CCTV cameras have also been installed around the parade ground.
