Bangalore, Aug 12: It was a pleasant surprise for Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Monday morning when he received first call of the day from none other than the prime minister of the country, Manmohan Singh.
Prime Minister Singh greeted Siddaramaiah as the latter turned 65 on Monday. Siddaramaiah thanked the prime minister for his kind gesture.
Admirers and associates made a beeline at the chief minister's residence even before sunrise to wish their leader. The Chief Minister was flooded with bouquets, garlands and shawls. Siddaramaiah sported a wide smile on his face and thanked every visitor.
Siddaramaiah became the chief minister of Karnataka after his party achieved a comprehensive victory in the assembly polls held in May.
