Jagan Reddy, Vijayamma resign as MP, MLA
Hyderabad, Aug 10: The YSR Congress President and and son of former Andhra Pradesh chief minister YS Rajashekhar Reddy, YS Jaganmohan Reddy and his mother YS Vijayamma have resigned from their Lok Sabha and Assembly seats, respectively, over the issue of Andhra Pradesh's bifurcation, on Saturday.
According
to
report,
their
resignations
come
in
the
wake
of
the
protest
of
"Congress
approach
towards
bifurcation
of
state".
The move comes at a time when the Congress leaders including the chief minister Kiran Reddy accused parties like TDP, YSRCP as playing double games by not coming clear on the bifurcation issue.
All of the party's 16 MLAs had resigned even before the Congress's June 30 decision to split the state. Another MP Mekapati Reddy had faxed his resignation to Speaker on July 5.
The protests against separation completed 11 days on Saturday in the Seemandhra region.
