Rajasthan: Jaisalmer SP transferred by local MLA?

Jaisalmer, Aug 4: A week after suspension of IAS officer Drurga Shakti Nagpal in Bihar for taking over the illegal sand-mining mafia, a district superintendent of police from Jaisalmer who dared an influential legislator of the ruling congress party in Rajasthan has been shunted out from the place.

With in 48 hours Pankaj Choudhary who was the Jaisalmer SP till Friday has been transferred to non field posting by the authorities for reopening the history-sheets of local MLA's father.

Gazi Fakir the father of local congress MLA Saleh Mohammed, who allegedly involved in smuggling and anti-social activities along Indo-Pak international border in the state and in July 31, 1965 the first history-sheet was filed against him.

However in the year 1984 the police file went missing and again in 1996 it was reopened and illegally the history-sheet was closed in May 2011 by an ASP-rank who was then in charge as the district SP.

District SP Pankaj Choudhary who was against the tourism industry and illegal liquor mafia which made the police ofice heated argument with Pokhran MLA for acting against these organized crime.

Jaisalmer residents and traders have given a call for a bandh on Sunday to protest against Chaudhary's transfer.

"My father is 80-years old and from last three decades there has been no chargesheet and allegations against him but still the history-sheet is re-opened, this is totally a political conspiracy against his family and the party", said Abdullah Fakir, brother of MLA Saleh Mohammed.
