MeT warns of heavy rains in the next 3 days
Bangalore, Aug 1: Southwest monsoon was heavy in Vidarbha and Chhattisgarh and very active over Odisha, west Uttar Pradesh, east Madhya Pradesh, Madhya Maharashtra, Marathawada and Telangana.
Heavy rains and thundershower occurred in most part of India including Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, west coast, Assam, Meghalaya, Sub Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Odisha and interior Karnataka.
Some of the other states that received heavy rainfall include Gujarat, east Rajasthan, Jharkhand, Bihar, west Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Punjab, Uttarakhand, Jammu and Kashmir and Andaman and Nicobar Islands.

As the weather conditions are likely to remain the same, if not worse, in the next few days, the met department warns people to stay safe.
Very heavy rainfall is likely to occur over Coastal Karnataka and ghat areas of South Interior Karnataka during the next 48 hours. Heavy rain would also occur at isolated places over North Interior Karnataka during the same period.
