China
Beijing, July 28: Six people were buried in a landslide in northeast China's Liaoning province early Sunday, officials said.

The victims were living in a temporary shed at a construction site in Zhongshan district of Dalian city when the landslide occurred around 4.20 a.m., triggered by incessant rain.

Their bodies were later found by rescuers, officials said.

Since Saturday night, Dalian has been hit by over 100 mm of torrential rainfall.

Meanwhile, 10 people were reported missing and three others were injured in a landslide in southwest Yunnan province, officials said Sunday.

A huge swathe of mud, rocks and debris tumbled into the Jinsha river, destroying parts of Huangping village Saturday evening.

The area of the debris was later estimated at 200 metres in width and 250 metres in depth.

Many vehicles, motorcycles and boats were damaged in the landslide.
