New Delhi, July 25: The Supreme Court, which was expected to deliver its verdict on a plea filed by Reliance Telecom Ltd (RTL), postponed the hearing till Monday, July 29. Now, it seems that Reliance ADAG chairman Anil Ambani might have to appear before a special CBI court on Friday, July 26.

The Supreme Court earlier had directed the listing of RTL plea saying, "Let the matter be listed before the bench seized of the 2G matter. Go to the bench which is hearing the matter." The court, however, did not give any specific date for the hearing.
RTL, which has been facing trial in the telecom spectrum case, had mentioned about the Supreme Court's previous plea restraining all other courts, including high court, from entertaining any plea arising out of 2G scam case.
The company also had claimed that 2G trial is almost complete and summoning Mr and Mrs Ambani would not serve any purpose at this stage.
Mr and Mrs Ambani were among those 13 witnesses who would be examined in the court as prosecution witnesses. Special CBI judge OP Saini had said, "I find that examination of these witnesses is necessary for just decision of the case..."
The investigative agency -- Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) wanted to ascertain the alleged investment of over Rs 990 crore by Reliance ADA Group companies in Swan telecom Pvt Ltd.
The agency contended Anil Ambani, who is the Chairman of Reliance ADA Group, would be able to "throw light" on the issues of the alleged investment by his group companies.
