UP chief minister convoy attacked in AP

Hyderabad, July 21: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav's convoy was allegedly attacked by a Congress MP's son and his men on Sunday in Secunderabad town in Andhra Pradesh.

A vehicle, which was following Akhilesh's car was stopped by a group of people who broke the glass panes protesting against their leader, Congress MP Anjan Kumar Yadav, not being allowed to get into one of the vehicles behind the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister's car. No one was injured.

Police has booked a case of 'wrongful restraint' (of a vehicle) and 'assault on a public servant' following the incident against four persons.

The incident happened at the portico of Park Hyatt Hotel in Jubilee Hills when Akhliesh was leaving for a meeting with Andhra Pradesh Revenue Minister N Raghuveera Reddy.

Akhilesh Yadav is in the southern state to participate in the national executive meeting of the All India Yadav Mahasabha in Hyderabad.

He also met Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy and drove to the residence of Union Tourism Minister K Chiranjeevi. During his stay, he also interacted with Telugu Desam Party chief N Chandrababu Naidu.
